On my Kubota L4610 HSTC, The ac compressor clutch cycles on 10 seconds, then off 10 seconds.
About 65 degree day. 2000 RPM. Sight glass only has bubbles @ beginning & end of cycles.Would this be considered normal?
I presume that a pressure switch might be causing the cycle? I think it may be similar at lower RPM.

The cycling which can be caused by several factors, including a dirty air filter, low refrigerant, faulty thermostat, clogged condenser coils, or a malfunctioning pressure switch; first check the air filter and condenser coils for cleanliness, then check the refrigerant level and ensure the thermostat is set correctly

I owned a 1986 F100 that had a freon leak in AC. When I saw bubbles in the sight glass that was a sign to add freon. Put in a 12 oz can and that would last till next year

Condenser coil is clean. Air filter is clean. Not sure but don't expect evaporator coil is very dirty. If it were very low on freon, would I not expect to see air bubbles in sight glass, maybe continuously?
I do wonder if we have it overcharged. Our records show that we added 7 oz freon, 10 years ago, so we wonder if we added when none was needed.
We looked under hood and did not find a pressure switch. I supposed it may be in the cab ceiling near the evaporator coil. Maybe we could jumper pressure switch, then thermostat, to determine what is dropping it out?

IMO if you added too much freon you would have blown the
compressor??

Sight glass in an AC system isnt for the level of refrigerant charge.

Does it get cold? If yes leave it. If not your prob a bit low. How ever I wouldnt add a whole 12oz can.

I want to thank everyone for your help. We put gauges on it and found it to be low on freon. It only changed the cycling (from 10 to 12 seconds) of compressor about 2 seconds ea way. It made bubbles in sight glass go away completely.
Next warm day, maybe we will get to give it a good test.

Right! R134A specifically states not to use the sight glass when refilling the system.
That frequent cycling is an indication refrigerant is a bit low. A set of gauges is best for working on a R134 system.
It's good he did obtain gauges and fact-find instead of guessing.
