Normet CH222 Chipper

I bought that chipper from Long about two months ago. Quite good condition. I've been using a Valby ch222 for about 30 years, love it, but it didn't have hydraulic feed. Chipping walnut branches required lots of trimming side branches and having to sometimes nurse the branch into the chipper rather than going to get another branch while the chipper does its thing. Only after buying my JD 5075e and reading the user manual did I find out that the tractor's hydraulics are not to be used to power orbital motors so I'm now addressing the issue of coming up with hydraulic power for the feed rollers. Nova Tractor sells a hydraulic pump unit which fits the PTO and has a pass-through to connect the chipper's pto shaft. Had to add Pat's Quick Hitch to the end of the 3 point hitch arms to make room for the pump.

asking price was $3,500, negotiated down to $3,000, plus I had to pay freight which came to about $1,300. I'd gotten no response to email that I sent, so I wrote him a snail-mail letter, to which he replied. He seemed to have a problem with emails not being received.

Need help on color, The closest thing I have seen in the stores to match this is "caterpiller" yellow. Anyone have a suggestion of a better match or a place to look, I took home a couple rattle cans of New Holland yellow and sunburst yellow and John Deere yellow (didn't know there was such a thing).
I didn't even take the caps off the paint. they were obviously not a match.

I found that Ace brand "Sunshine yellow" from Home Depot is almost an exact match, at least on my far-from-new Valby. The paint was used on the mounting plate I installed which holds the plywood chainsaw carrier
