Jack Frost is coming...maybe.

Our low Friday am is forecast to be 36*, so there could be localized frost for some in the region.

If it matters for your gardens, might check your local forecasts.

Thanks for the heads up...just looked and I see 36 on my local forecast too. Geez been harvesting tomatoes like crazy, peppers just made a second set and lots of nice eggplant still growing too!. Oh well the apples will get sweeter :)

Yeah, frost is not unexpected this time of year here. The maddening thing about it is Mother Nature likes to yank our chains with spring and fall frosts that are surrounded by warmer temps. We can have an early Sept. frost and then not another one for two-three weeks.

The native greenery sort of shrugs them off in the fall, but they are hard on garden plants that are not in their normal zones.

Well considering it snowed Memorial Day weekend here in VT. which is our normal Spring planting date it was one short summer...picked off a whole bunch of peppers, eggplant, and tomatoes tonight just in case!

Or for that matter a really warm May where it gets into the 70s 'most every day (making putting in the garden early very tempting), then BAM! frost for Memorial day. Of course, if you resist the temptation to plant early the late frost doesn't happen.
Mother nature does enjoy messing with us!

Exactly. :)

For a while this afternoon they moved my forecast low down to 33*, but now I see it's up to 37* and currently 50*. I'm going to chance it and not cover the tomatoes and cukes with blankets. Have to live dangerously once in a while.

Wow. Really? Supposed to be 100 here tomorrow. Hearing about a frost warning makes me happy it will be 100 tomorrow. It's been a little warm lately, but your warning reminds me of how much I hate the cold.

LOL.

It's 42* here now. I guess it's all in what we are accustomed to. I'm sure it would take me a couple of years to adjust to your temps, and the same for really cold places like Northern Minnesota.

You can always put more and better clothes on, but you can only take off so many until you are out of options.
