Northern tool vs TSC pto shafts

As a newby I need to replace a pto shaft for a rotary cutter. Northern tool pto shafts are 1/2 the price of TSC shafts. Anyone have experience with the Northern Tool shafts? Will be used at most once a month to keep my 6 acres cleaned up

Wish I had a better answer than this but I have used all types of PTO shafts over the years and I know some were from TSC and some were from Northern Tool as well as other places and i can't recall much of a difference between them.

I gave $129 for a new shaft complete for my rotary cutter. from Race Brothers in Harrison Ar. A competitor to the TSC. Quite a bit cheaper. It is a Eurocardan. Seems to be balanced and well made, and works well, Only a couple of hours on it so far.

I am running the old style square type shaft. Twisted two up loosing the female end. TSC wants 47 dollars for each end of the tube. And they do not carry the tube. New price for whole set -up over 400.00 dollars. Clutch is another 153.00. I simply need to mow smaller stuff.

On occasion I have found some for sale on CL and picked them up cheap (all different lenght's).

if you're buying online, Northern Tool usually has pretty steep shipping costs. If you're comparing prices, check for shipping costs.

Agri-Supply has two variations of the same shaft, or at least this is what I think. They both appear to be the triangular Eucardian style. Their price seem to be the best and you can get them with or without the slip clutches. bjr

I found a great buy on a PTO shaft from Georgia Equipment Supply via their Ebay on line store. $129 delivered ,they even threw in 3 shear pins. Good quality fast shipping and I am all smiles.
