Looks like a very handy tool. I can't find any real on-line reviews. Everything I read on different forums seems to read more like spam than actual reviews.

I looked at the quick spade combo web site again last night and thought that if these guys had a "quick tree remover". Something I could quickly attach to my bucket and remove a few hawthorn and other small trees from time to time with in the same $250 price range. I would buy one of those in a heart beat.

I was just reading my Northern catalog in my special reading room. I saw the spade and figured they set that single rock on it for a good picture. I have problems getting rocks in my bucket, let alone pick one up on a spade. Maybe they are easier to see when you have a skid steer. JC

Hey guys

I was just looking around on the web and saw everyone talking about the Quick Spade. I have a Quick Spade Combo on my Kubota tractor. You guys were asking how it worked. I use it everyday. You won't believe how fast you can dig with it. I promise you couldn't dig fast with just a bucket on.

As far as you saying you couldn't pick up a rock with it like the picture. Trust me on this one!!! You can pick up a dime if you want. It's just like using a shovel but you don't have to work.

Just thought you wanted to know my thoughts. I'm telling you if you think you might use one. Try it and you won't leave the house with out it.

Great Forum!!!!

Great Forum!!!!

Any "Action Shots" ?? I would like to see pictures of it in action other than the ones from the manufacturer!! A real product review not from manufacturer would also be nice.

The quick spade may be a good tool, but this thread looks like ad infiltration.;) There are companies that are hired to have employees join forums just to sell a product. They start posting to each other singing praises to the product, trying to get true members to purchase said product. These people will have more than one user name and promote products on several different forums. Check some of there other posts to see what they talk about. Great living in the land of the free aint it.

RW,

The only thing that bugged me with the QuickSpade is that the chain digs into the top rail of my loader when I'm picking up heavy rocks or trying to dig up areas where roots are everywhere.

I hooked mine up by attaching the chain to the top and bottom hooks on the QuickSpade, wraping all the way around the loader bucket, then racheting the chains tight with a load binder. Are you setting yours up in another manner that avoids the chains grinding against the bucket?

Thanks,

Wei

Hey guys

I do work with the manf. I'm not hired to be on here to sell product. I just like one of you guys. I love playing in the dirt. I do a lot of landscaping on the side. I don't care what you have to say about the product. I'm just a worker.

I understand what you are talking about with the chain running all the way around the bucket. I picked up a 6 inch wide heavy duty ratchet strap with hooks on the ends. I placed the hooks onto the hooks of the quick spade combo and tighten it has hard as I can. Works pretty slick.

<QUOTE=cpaum>You all need to check out this product! I'm not joking!! If you can say I don't need one. Tell me why. There is no one in this world that couldn't use one of these. I just happen to come across this product on the web. Someone needs to show this company how to market to us.</QUOTE>

So which is it? You are a working guy who just happened across this product or a paid xxxx for the company?

Hi Guys:

I've also been investigating a QuickSpade and haven't decided whether to buy. The product seems like a poor-boy's backhoe. I've appreciated your comments. PS - I don't work for the manufacturer or any of the distributors. Just a guy with a tractor and the need to remove a woods full of invasive buckthorn saplings.

Here's a few of my comments, questions & thoughts:

dirt ditch - Thanks for the head's-up about "infiltrators". I suspected it would be a good way to push a product, if you were a little unscrupulous.

RW6298 - Thanks for the recommendation of using a nylon strap rather than chain to secure the spade. Also, do I understand correctly that you work for Paumco, the manufacturer? If so, do you know how many of the QuickSpades get returned by unsatisfied customers, and whether you can return it after having tried is and scuffed up the paint, etc?

Luremaker - For pulling trees (saplings), I just bought a "pallet puller scissor clamp" that I hope will help me clear the bigger invasive buckthorn saplings on my five acres of woods. Rated for up to 1,000lbs and my FEL only has about 500lbs lift, so I've got that going for me.

It seems perfect and I'll get back to y'all after I try it when the ground dries up enough to travel through the woods without rutting everything up. I've got a trailer ball attached to the lower plate of my FEL and this will fit over it. About $75 delivered. (PS - I don't work for these guys either. Matter of fact, I don't work, period. Some call it retirement, I call it "self unemployed".

You can find it at ebay - PALLET PULLING SCISSOR CLAMP ATTACHMENT PULLING TOOL | eBay

That's all for comments and questions. Thanks for listening and responding.

In my case I did not want to simply pull the trees but rather move the tree with root-ball for replanting elsewhere. This will be year four with the Quick Spade and I still think it was the right tool for me. Last summer I planted close to 50 large trees and use the quick spade for all the holes.

I bought a quick spade a few years ago......our soil is stone and clay.....it is pretty useless here...however I can see where it would be quite handy in soil types having limited stones

I built something similar, it works pretty fair where there is dirt, we have a lot of shelf rock so that ends the digging when you hit that.
