I wish i would have taken a pic of the original but i forgot
It reminded me of the air cleaner from the 64 Dart I'm working on with my brother. lol... The worst part was when taking out the element it was really hard not to have dust go right down the intake. Also mitered joints are disruptive to smooth air flow.
So I decided to upgrad to something more appropriate to the dust conditions it will be operating in. I calculated my engine airflow requirements at about 95 CFM. Then I went to Donaldson catalog to see what i could find. I wanted something that could still fit in the footprint of the original and still be tucked under the hood. I also decided to get a air cleaner with a safety filter for extra protection and ended up picking one of Donaldson FPG series and this model flows 110 to 145 cfm depending on amount of vacuum pulled.
