NorTrac, Jinma, Foton...I'm cornfuzed...

Hey guys, I'm betting somebody here knows the answer to this question...

When did the NorTrac line switch from Jinma to Foton as thier partner?

Doing some research it appears Northern Tool used Jinma early on, but their current brochure shows a partnership with Foton.

(Also, it appears Jinma is being manufactured by Mahindra Yueda(Yancheng)Tractor Co.,Ltd)

None of this critical, but I'll sleep better if I could fiqure this out. :confused2:

I think it was early 2011 or so, when the Foton models came out they had the "XT" designation.

Actually it was sort of a phased transition. At first it was Jinma only. Then they switched from Jinma to Foton in the "above 45 hp" category. I think that may have been as long as 5 years ago. Then about 2 years ago the dropped Jinma completely in favor of Foton.

To answer your question about Mahindra/Jinma: Mahindra bought into Jinma a few years ago and now (at least) the smaller Mahindras are made in the Jinma factory in China. Mahindra still has manufacturing in India as well.
