While visiting Cancun or should I say some place south of Cancun we ran into this guy. This was his job to run up and down the beeches all morning until the rush came around. That tractor is pretty good size but had trouble with the grass catcher behind it. At times the nose of the tractor would be pointing straight up the beech.

Besides looking at all the babes on the beech he is cultivating or picking up all of the seaweed that comes in over night. That rig in the back must have a pretty good pull to it as sometimes you will see all the wheels just a spinning. It also smooths out the sand.

No name on the tractor so I can't tell you what it is.

Jeff, you changed your signature picture?? Why? The Falcons are a great team, stick with them.

Grooming the sand.

What does ""..the nose of the tractor would be pointing straight up the beech."" mean? So much pull that the front end is coming up? Sorry, but I'm apparently a bit slow to catch on here. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I suspect this rig is lifting and sifting the sand to pick out debris, such as clam shells, broken glass, stones, and other feet piercing items. Probably takes some real horses to get through that sand.

This is "Mary Ann, down by the sea-side sifting sand.." /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Instead of going parrall with the beech the tractor would tend to sit perpendicular to the beech. His goal was to go parrall with the beech.

Thanks Murph. I have always been a Falcon fan and have been properly abused for being one more times than not. They looked like they weren't interested in the game against the Eagles.

Wait till next year! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I usually don't do this, but Murph, this is a classic!

Is that Secret Code?

You DID spell Tractor correctly, though!!!

Great post. Hope you had fun, or were you just dreaming about snowmobiles down there.....

picks up trash on the beach period, not just seaweed.

They do the same thing on the beach in Ocean City, MD. They use some very large MF 4WD tractors and run them 4 or 5 across, lots of fun to watch.

Wow! Memories! For about 1 1/2 years (mid seventies), I did that five days a week, at sunrise, at a Condo complex, on Longboat Key, Sarasota, Fla. Used a small Ford. Main objective was to "make the beach look good".

Did not care for the climate, but have to admit that 1/2 - 3/4 hour was a great way to start my day. Still somewhat cool and quite peacefull.

This and the "ladies" that used to sneak into the pool without tops on are my good memories. ( We were supposed to report them. Yeah, Right!)
