On my 2810 that I have had for only 1.5 yrs. and with 210 hrs on it, my clutch went out Friday 5/6/05. Heard a noise while backing off of trailer. After having to change a bearing for the main hydraulic pump, and changing the entire wiring harness already, all within this 1.5 yrs, I am second guessing my decision. Branson is happy to accomodate me but I rely on my tractor for a second income. Any one else have this type of trouble.

Big Lug,

Can't say I've had any problems, but I only have 33 hrs. on my Branson 3510. It's good to hear honesty, though. We probably are always trying to make ourselves feel better about our wonderful toys, so a reality check seems healthy. Are we rationalizing our purchases in defense against the Big Orange, Blue, and Green guys? God, I hope I'm not suffering from tractor envy! No, I still think I got a good deal.

I'll be on the lookout for, let's see, wiring harness, pump bearing, and clutch, though. Please let us know what other problems people are having. Anyone else having troubles with their Kukjes? How about warranty service? Out of warranty issues?

It suddenly dawns on me that my Ford 601 is still going after 44 years of faithful service and was only split open once and never had it's head off. Anyone know what the longest typical history on a Kukje is?

Thanks for the input.

Mike I contacted my dealer and he talked to the Vice-President in Georgia, they offerred to buy back the tractor for $10,000, but I paid $13,500, 1.5 yrs ago. Branson has bent over backwards for me on all my problems. I can call the 800# in Georgia any time and talk to Jimmy , which is the service foreman. I would like to buy the 4220, but I think my dealer is about $2000 higher than what I have been reading. He quoted me $17600w/loader. By the way my tractor has a loader on it. Any one please let me know if taht is high or low on the 4220. I had 15 loads of 14 yd. truck loads of dirt to spread when I backed off the trailer and suddenly had no clutch. I t would creep when I pushed the clutch in but when I let the clutch out I had nothing. It was working opposite than it is supposed to work like. At the beginning my PTO would grind just like some of you had posted, then I adjusted it and it worked fine. My dealer said this could have contributed some to it going out. Beware.......... I'm going to see if they will give me more for my tractor or give me a better deal on the 4220. Let me know what ya'll think.

Branson dealer up here in Maine quoted me $19,000 for a 3820 the next size down from 4220. You guys down south drive me nuts with your quotes...I could probably save money buying down there and having it shipped up. This Gold Coast crap sucks....

BTW why would they offer to buy it back for less then what you paid for it when its still under warranty? I don't get that /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Well, I've not had near the problems that Big Lug has had, and knock on wood, hope I never do. My problems have been with fuel lines on my new 3510. With 2 hrs. on her, I split the return line, and stopped at my dealer for a replacement. He didn't have any in stock, and just took one off of another new tractor he had on the lot. Took it home and finished mowing, but the next day, I was taking the tractor over to my in-laws to do some work, when I smelled diesel again... this time it was the supply line that had split. I sent my wife to NAPA to get me some fuel line, fixed it on the road, and was back on my way... started working at father in-laws farm, smelled diesel again, and it was the new return line that the dealer had taken from the new tractor on the lot... NAPA trip again since this is a smaller line.... Think I finally got it all fixed since I've put about 10 hrs. on it and no more leaks. Anybody else have problems with fuel lines? Am I getting too much fuel pressure? Brian

That is a very fair price at 17,600 on 4220 with a loader.Could you shop it for months to save a couple of hundred ? Probally.

Keep in mind that dealer costs have gone on quite a bit this year on Equipment. Possibally if you are not financing that new machine you could save a bit more.

"I would like to buy the 4220, but I think my dealer is about $2000 higher than what I have been reading. He quoted me $17600w/loader."

If someone said they just paid 15600.00 on that machine I would say they are stretching the truth, It is below deler cost.

I figure the loader is worth $2600 so your paying about $15,000 for the tractor.

My local dealer quoted $16,700 for the same model -- no loader but a brush hog included. If the brush hog is worth $800, I'm looking at $15,900 for the same 4220. Oh yeah, it had turf tires on it so that adds about $400 more so call it $15,500 for a comparable unit.

Brian,

I haven't had any fuel line problems in my short experience with my 3510. Don't know how to check pressure, but it's a thought. Hope you and your "farm girl" wife have a great and long future with your Branson!

Never had a fuel line break, but last week, the clear plastic bowl that the fuel filter sits in cracked cleanly around the screw down base and dumped half a tank of diesel before I noticed it. Simple repair, did it myself in 3 minutes, but made me wonder.
No other problems on my 3647 with FEL, and I've got about 100 hours on it now.
