flicking through the threads it looks for depressing reading, broken this not working that - so I wondered who, like me, havent had to do a thing (bar servicing) to their Yanmars...?

YM1510 in three years did filters, seat change, a few mechanically broken pipes on the foreloader. FX22 filter changes, lights fixed due to driver (me), leaking fuel pipes (loose), replacement tyres (tires?)... um....

Me! I repaired considerable prior-owner neglect, abuse, and boneheaded 'fixes' to put my two inexpensive but abused-looking Yanmars in service. For both of them, the YM240 I've owned since 2003 and the YM186D bought in 2009, I have had NO further issues beyond stuff I identified at purchase, mentioned to negotiate the price down, and then repaired back to spec.

Well there was the time the YM240 gearshift lever became free to revolve and I had to replace the rollpin that secures it. That cost $0.75.

I can't think of anything else I've repaired on either tractor aside from fixing damage I caused myself such as moving heavy brush and tearing off the oil pressure sender wire, or when I bought 20 gallons of low grade biodiesel and ran B100 that crudded up the (original) injectors - clearly owner abuse, not Yanmar issues.

I'm happy with mine. Aside from their hard-life appearance they perform as nice as they did 30 years ago.

Well I have a 3110D and other than one diverter valve unit I replaced shortly after i purchased it to restore power steering, that's pretty much it in ten + years. I really don't even count the valve because the lack of steering dropped the price by about 500.00 so I came out OK on that...

Though I think it irritated the dealer just a tad at the time as I was accused of being a reseller for a short while.
Didn't matter though, he stood by his machine and I stand by his shop GA Auto Parts.

The Yanmar was one of the best purchases I ever made - never had a diesel before but I'm a believer in them now.

I have replaced my front wheel bearings only, no grease on install and constantly overloaded FEL attributed to their demise. apart from that absolutely zip in nearly 5 years.

Had to rebuild the Starter. That was the only time the 2000 has went down in over 5 Yrs. And tech. I could still get it stated if need be. Local shop 2 days & 75.00$. That and a Axle Seal. It's was bought As/Is all Orig. with no signs of it ever being refurbished.
