The deed is done, and I'm the proud owner of a 2008 John Deere 2520! Thank you, everyone, for your willingness to share your subject matter expertise and for your patience answering my newbie questions. With your help I'm sure I've purchased the tractor that's right for me.
Next Friday the dealer will orient me to the controls, make sure I can remove and re-attach the implements, and then give me appropriate safety warnings and a chance to drive it around and use it. They've already made good suggestions regarding break-in and maintenance. I am so impressed with their commitment to customer satisfaction - "If you don't call me with your questions, concerns or issues, I can't help you - so call me!"
The price was right with their first quotation, no haggling necessary. Along with the discount they threw in loaded tires and a ballast box. And I asked for chain hooks be welded on the bucket in-line with the loader arms - no problem.
Everything considered, working with my dealer has been a very satisfying, superior experience. When I get her home I'll post a few photos - in the Owning and Operating forum, of course! I can hardly wait!
