Need to go down and wack some trees, chain saw and other tools into loader and away I go. Along the way, got to move some rocks, dirt, nock down some brush...Take everything out of loader, do job, put everything back in load and move on. There's got to be a better way to do this.
Here is what I started with, my rear weight bar. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Ok, here the parts that make up my plan to get stuff to where I need it without hogging the loader. I have added a hitch to the weight bar and a couple of more weights since the last picture. And the removeable basket that I built is ready to be installed. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

And here is the final product. Big enough to carry my chainsaw and other tools to work areas without using my fel. The top is slanted inward so I can strap in hoes, shovels or other items that don't fit into the basket. Sorry the picture is a little blury, need to spend more time editing pictures to make them smaller for downloads. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif - but that would mean less tractor time /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

That's got to be the slickest counter weight yet and it came from a rather unexpected location. In New England, there isn't a lot of space between the trees rock and stumps so we respect the counter weight tucked in nice and close. Not bad for a midwesterner! (meaning you're use to more space). You may have a little blurr but it was shot in full sun which made a good picture of an anotherwise very black steel work. Good job! /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif SteveV

That is an interesting weight bar. Did you make it or is it a purchased item? If so, who made it and cost, if you don't mind me asking??? Are the weights standard items???? thanks....

When I got my tractor, I asked my dealer if there was some way to get more weight on the rear(pre tbn). I had seen some front weights on his tractors and ask if they could be put on the rear. He found the 3pt attachment, hung 8 weights and the rest is history /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
It was still a little light in the rear, so a few months ago I added two more weigths. I think they are around 50-60 lbs each. As far as I know all the weight parts are standard items, the 3pt came from New Holland, the weights have a AC stamped on them and fit real snug on the bar. As far as cost, I may have $300 + tied up in the rear bar.

A C = Allis Chalmers?????? Prices for Kubota weights are out of sight...more than a $1.00 per pound. Found some weights on e bay that were inexpensive, but the shipping would have been a killer...... the other side of the country!!!!

Or how about this one?
You forget to take the stuff out of the bucket when you park the tractor for the nite.
Next day you decide to move some dirt and scoop up a load of dirt and burry everything you had in the bucket when you dump the load of dirt.
Anyone else done it?

Mike Burr, Nice weight bar and tote box!! /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

LBrown59, Yeah! came close a couple of times but not quite, It's always better to pull up to the pile and say "whew OH yeah" than to get your bucket full and say "AWW CRAP" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
