I have just purchased a 5ft. lift type offset harrow. I looked on the web to find the proper way to adjust and set up this harrow. While I set it as per the web site I was on it seems that I still don't have something right. It does not leave a level cut. It is leaving a high side to the right and it is beveled to a low cut to the left. The back gang is not leveling the dirt.:confused:

If some one could please explain to me how to set this thing right, or show me a pict. or even a web site that had more info. than the one I searched. In other words I need a diagram, I'm retarded......LOL!!!!!:confused2:

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Leland

Pic's would help.
What brand is it.
Maybe someone here could get you a manual.
Just trying to help.

Maybe I'm envisioning something else, but is this not something that can be corrected with the leveling turnbuckle on your 3pt hitch?

I'm trying to get some pics. not having to good a luck with phone camera. will keep working on it.:(

Don't know what name brand as there is no ID plate on it.
My son bought it at a local auction, but it is new.

xtn, on a off set harrow the settings of the gang pitch (angle) and the lateral movement of the gangs determines how level it cuts and how well it penetrates the soil.

Thanks Leland

I'd set the disc up per the instructions you have and then start adding weight to get it to work.

I have a 6.5 ft pull type offset disc. I had to add almost 500 lb of extra weight (four 120 lb concrete weights) to get it to work reasonably well. The soil in my hayfield is thin and gravely. I generally disc when the soil is pretty dry--in Oct prior to putting in a winter hay crop (Kanota oats).

Thanks flusher, it does seem a bit light. Its a lot lighter than the 6ft. tandem gang I have.
