Kubota M5140 Case 580C, Case 450C, Case 850B John Deere 350C, Kubota L185, Kubota L245H,
I have a Kubota L245H it is similar to the Farmall 140 only its Diesel, it has a cast iron ballast weight on the right rear wheel, to compensate for the offset.

MY Question, Should I have water ballast in both rear tires or just the wheel with the weight on it ? How much water should I place in tire? Right now it has only 1 tire with 75% water Ballast, the right side the one that also has the ballast weight on it. I checked operator manual and it is not addressed. Thanks

It is my understanding you always fill both tires the same with liquid. 75% or to the top of the rim is max fill. If you only use for cultivation does it need ballast?

Jeremiah, I edited my 1st post I believe being that the tractor is offset it needs the cast iron Ballast on the Right side to help keep tractor from rolling over on a slope it one were driving parallel to it. I use it for mowing also not just Cultivating.

A cast iron weight on right side makes sense but when you fill tires you are also affecting their traction and for that reason have been told fill both the same. Boy those off center Farmall sure were great for cultivating but. Never used one but sure did admire the job so many got with them.
