offset fail mower for do ditches and ponds

Hi I would like to hear from anyone with an offset fail mower

I am so sick of weed wacking I could do a commerical for stiel for their weed wackers it averages out
to about 60 to 100 hours a year. I want something I do around the pond edges and the ditches with.
And I need it to cut way offset not just a foot.

Have you considered a sickle-bar mower? They are far easier to maintain and you can use a smaller tractor than with one of those big heavy flail mowers. I doubt your JD4103 would be big enough for one of those flail mowers, but it could probably easily handle an 8' or 9' sickle-bar at far less than the price of the flail mowers.

Look on the DR Equipment web site. They have a 3 point attached PTO operated line trimmer. It uses 175mm line. They also have a chain saw blade attachment for larger stuff. It even tilts to go down into ditches. They are on sale right now for $1K. Wish I could afford one.
