I've a old Dixon 3304 and cannot get blade to quit turning (replace the blade brake already but belt still turns blade regardless of spring tension). A buddy offer a Ogura clutch and thought I'd be able to convert the double drive pulley to accommodate the clutch. Has anyone ever converted a old belt tensioner type deck drive to a electric clutch, did it work? bjr

I've heard of guys converting their older Case/Ingersoll tractors to E-clutch from the mechanical, but that was only after swapping with a totally different engine. IMO, I wouldn't even consider going electric over mechanical. You can't beat the simplicity and longevity of mechanical clutches on these machines.

I feel the same way if I could just get the blade to quit spinning when the lever is released. I've tried various belts including the factory part no. belt and the blasted blade still turns. I've adjusted and diddled with the arm that connects to the blade brake the next step is to mess with the belt tensioner pulley to see if I can get it to release more. Dixon's deck setup were suppose to be top notch, well, that ain't the way it turns out. No more Dixon mowers for this end user. bjr
