I do my Hydraulic filter changes once a year. I bought (at the suggestion of a friend) a case off of ebay that was very, very cheap. The filters have been great. Pull one out of the box and notice the plastic wrapper is torn up. Then I look closer and see that the top of the filter has rusted. I dig open the plastic and start looking around and inside the filter is a nice little mouse nest.
Knowing how expensive these very large filters are I was none too pleased, but at least I had another to fall back to. Now they are all stored face down (no rubber ring on them) so hopefully that will help.
