I had originally thought of this idea to hold my chains, but either I wasn't thinking straight or went overboard on the chains 16' 3/8. There's no way my chains will fit in these. I put them on anyway. I'll use them for tools or first aid kit or maybe even my lunch. I'm still happy with the idea.

So just make those boxes longer. It appears the FEL mounting can accommodate a longer container. What are they made of? It looks like plastic fence posts.

Maybe better suited for your lunch, a few bread sticks, and a beer to wash it all down. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Got to agree would be good to stash a few tools in there if it isn't so deep that you couldn't easily retrieve them when needed.

How about smaller chains?

Good lord that tractor is way too clean.............

I like the idea and as was mentioned could you make it taller or longer on the bottom?

midlf, I thought of longer boxes but just above the small ones there is a bump that sticks out from a weld inside the upright. I'd have to cut a hole in the post to install it, also it really isn't that important i'll find some other way. In the meantime I have a place to put small tools, water bottles etc. extra storage is always handy. There's a hollow 3 1/2" piece of tubular steel support for the FEL that runs across the front. I can put a 44" piece of 3" PVC in it, cap both ends and I have my chain holder. necessity IS the mother of invention. I'll post a few more pics to show what I mean. #1 shows why I can't use a long enough box on the vertical support
