Ok my question is for anyone that knows diesel motors because this is my first diesel so I know nothing okay maybe not anything but enough to be dangerous so my question is what type of motor oil would you put in this tractor it is a 1978 international harvester backhoe.it looks to me that the oil has not been changed since 1980 I do hope I'm wrong but any help would be appreciated thank you. obb
That engine is based on tractor IHC 574 , Farmall 544, IHC (CASE )684 Engine D239 Oil that same in that model of tractors ... If You didnt know about specyfication use oil to Dodge Ram with Cummins 5.9 L its will be worked.. Oil capacity is 7 qts .Send me a prive message I will send You a photo of my excavator
