Oil and Hydraulic capcity for Yanmar 1700D

Hi,

I have a Yanmar 1700D and it rolled over the other day and leaked out oil and possibly hydraulic fluid. Does anyone know the engine oil capacity and the the universal hydraulic transmission fluid capacity. Also, from what I have read, the recommended engine oil is 15W-40 and the UHT fluid should be JD303. Is this correct? I think the previous owner was running SAE 30 weight oil for the engine. Should I keep 30 weight or go to 15W-40. Are there any other precautions I should take after the thing rolled over on its side? It still seems to run normally after I got it back over. The only damage I could see visually was a dented fender.

You are correct on the fluid types, fill to the full marks on the dipsticks.

Hi Mark, Welcome to TBN, what made it roll over, and somebody else can tell you for sure, but I think I would go with 15w40, 30 weight works great for a lawn mower, but not for a diesel. Robert

hey i had a question allong these lines as well. being as I don't know what type of oil and trans fluids are in there at present, they are new however, if in the futur, I need to add some case oil or tranhy fluid would it be ok to mix the 15w40 and jd 303 with respective existing fluids or is that an absolute no no. by the way man sorry to hear about the RO. I have a 1700bd as well and it seems pretty solid how much of a grade were you on when it rolled
