My book does not show the top option it shows the side only - I believe the top is sealed....

On my Kubota M6040 there is only the low fill port as AMvCane has shown.

Be safe - fill thru this lower port.

I have a metal funnel with extended flex nozzle. Temporarily wire it up to an arm on the FEL. 12 quarts - simple as pie.

I am going to do my own oil change and I am a bit confused to where to pour the new oil into the engine without getting it into the valve area.
The reason why I am asking is that I read somewhere a while back about not using the top opening on the valve covers for pouring oil in as it would leak into the top of the head and valves.
Please do not insult me just want to make sure that I am doing it right. I usually get the dealer to do all my service but because of the Pandamic crisis I have to do it myself.
Any input would be great

Most vehicles have the oil refill on the valve cover. See no reason not to use that spot. On our JDs, there's another one that drains it directly to the sump/pan, but it is canted and is more prone to spill if poured slightly too fast.

Why do we think tractors are so much different from other engines? Crap. Use common sense.

I changed mine a few days ago. I used a funnel with a small outlet and just poured the 5 liters straight in the rocker cover. It's the way I always do it. No problems.
Mine is 2006. The later ones had a oil filler neck down the side of the block.

Bring you up to date. I had the dealer come service my tractor and he showed me the spot to fill the oil in by the dipstick with a big orange cap lol. Now I know for sure where to put the oil next time I will do it myself.
