Oil Cooler Leaks

As a side note, there is a spring and check ball to keep the cooler from overpressurizing that sits on top of the hydro filter. When you change out that line, it comes out (or you can pull it with a magnet) I never knew it was there, but ended up reading it in the manual when the spring showed up, and I was going anyway, my thought is that I am going to order a new spring, just to insure that it is working as well as it can.
Thanks for the info on the new kit. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Are you saying the spring and check ball need to be removed/replaced or they fell out when you removed the line?

The spring hangs out when you remove the banjo bolt holding the line onto the oil filter housing. I guess it just suprised me, I did not expect there to be a check or limiting valve in there.

My manual say's to check for condition or something like that and replace if needed.

The ball looked flawless, the spring had a slight bend, but I guess I would just like to know that that spring was working at the correct tension to do it's job. Probably be fine for the rest of my lifetime, but will probably just change it too make sure.

Just wondering how you Walmart battery is doing on your tractor. Is it leaking any acid? Thanks

Working fine for us. Might try the glass mat one, but for the money it was worth it for me.

I liked the optima someone had pictured, and for $100 may do that next time, but for the $30 or so I spent, I have been happy with the Wally world one.

I looked all over for a place to put the "conduit" when I replaced my lines. Since I couldn't see anyplace that might rub I just stuck it in a drawer.

Maybe someone knows the exact placement for this part, or maybe you figured it out AlanB.

Not really, this is what I wrote in post #10 on this thread

Oh, and I put the convoluted tubing over the lower line, it looks like the battery cables will want to rub there, so it was a logical place to me. I did not see any other potential clearance problems. I will keep an eye on it and make sure that something does not crop up though.

Have not had any problems yet (touch wood) and does give me a lot more peace of mind as I watch that tractor work on someone's lawn.
