On my PT, the oil drain plug does not come close to the drain hole and makes a major mess when doing oil changes.

Particularly since our drain plugs are protected, I ordered a drain valve from Qwikvalve.

:: QwikValve::FUMOTO OIL DRAIN VALVE::The best way to change your motor oil without tools or mess!

i ordered the type with the nipple on it for hooking it up to a hose.

Nice site. I had measured my drain plug with calipers and knew it was 18 mm but it was nice that the site has a search engine that works quite well and confirmed the size.

Seems like a nice solution for us.

I have a similar valve on my dodge/cummins pickup that was made by Femco ( FEMCO Draintechnology, responsible oil draining ) that i really love it makes oil changes so easy. the Femco protrudes less, but has a cover cap that must be removed and you must have tube to drain the oil .. At one time they had a similar valve as the QwikValve, but I was always worried about tripping the lever accidently by driving over something..

I have not seen the QwikValves, but am seriously thinking about putting something similar on my tractor and my wifes car

Have you checked to see if maybe you might have two oil drain holes for your motor, one on each side of the engine? My kohler command pro 25 has two and like you said one of them don't line up with the holes in the tub and would cause a mess if I used that one but the other one lines up alright.

Maybe there is a drain plug underneath that i missed. Even if there is, this will be a nice solution.

I've been using the Fumoto valve for years on several cars and am very happy. It's a quality product. Oil changes are quick, you never drop the drain plug in the waste oil pan and you'll never strip a drain plug.

There is a bottom drain plug as well as the one on the side. The one on the very bottom does not line up with the hole in the "tub" which is why i missed it.
