Oil fill caps

On my 1900 I have an oil fill cap on side of block, no big deal but under the air cleaner housing on valve cover is two more oil fill caps. What is the need for the fill caps in valve cover? Is to lube quicker when changing oil???

Have seen 25 HP continious duty diesel engines used in industrial and marine applications (pumps-generators etc.) that are never shut down. Oil is changed while engine is running and rpm not altered. They have 2-3 oil fill points. I wonder if yours is similary equipped?
