I just bought a TC45DA. I was reading throught the manual and stapled to the cover was a yellow print-out giving detailed instructions on adding oil. It said to remove the dip stick and very slowly add oil. It said if using a funnel, to never let the oil build up. Make sure that a steady stream runs through the funnel.
Do you know anything about this?

I've got the same tractor and if you pour to fast it just makes a mess.. thanks all..

I can't remember exactly, but I think it said something about oil getting somewhere that it shouldn't if you fill to much to fast. I don't get it. When the engine is running, oil is going all over the place inside. It also said to wait a min. of 5 minutes before starting the engine.

I have had fresh motor oil run out the crankcase vent tube when adding oil faster than it can run down from the top of the cylinder head to the crankcase. Newer TC's have no external crankcase vent; Gasses are vented to the intake. Pulling the dipstick helps to vent the crankcase to allow added oil to drain from the top of the head to the oilpan faster than it would with the dipstick in place.
