Oil filter cross reference?

For a B & S V-twin, filter is BS-696854. Tired of paying $16 for these things, anyone have a recommended substitute?

I believe that is a Motorcraft FL400S. $4 at WalMart.

That filter will hold a few more ounces of oil, which isn't a bad thing, imho.
