Oil & Fuel oil filter substitutes?

Guys, Thanks for the input, I was curious so I checked where filters that I had in the garage were made, Fram, USA, Purolator, USA. When I pick up the WIX filters I'll post their place of manufacture as well. The oil that I bought, Castrol HD Diesel oil 15W-50 could have come from anywhere, BP owns Castrol and the container lists NJ as an address. The machine however was made in South Korea where I spent a "delightful" 15 months which included two summers over 50 years ago. The return trip included sailing through a typhoon. As an old retired Navy Seabee, I did have some experience with heavy equipment, it looked OK to me and so far, after four years has had no problems. Besides that I got a great buy on it. It was a year old and the previous owner was going through a divorce. The folding safety bar allowed me to store it in our garage, that was the sale clincher.

Wix and the filters they produce for Carquest and Napa will say Gasontia, NC on the packaging. For the most part they are made in the US, there are a few applications they have produced overseas. If you look for a country of origin on the filter itself rather then the packaging it could say mexico or poland.

From what I have seen the Kioti filters are primarily produced by Donaldson. Again you would have to check the filter for its country of origin.

Don't forget you can always go to a local bobcat dealer if the Kioti dealer is to far. I have access to niether without spending half a day on the road.

I've beat this dead horse before, why should I pay a Kioti dealer nearly $70. for a CK20HST filter when I can get a NAPA Gold for about $12. Do you go to your Ford, Dodge, etc dealers for your cars and trucks? Just because it's OEM doesn't mean its the best. I have experienced many fuel filter failures on my 525hp Cummins N14 using Fleetguard (Cummins OEM) filters, NEVER have I experienced a failure using Baldwin filters.

Do you go to your Ford, Dodge, etc dealers for your cars and trucks? Just because it's OEM doesn't mean its the best. I have experienced many fuel filter failures on my 525hp Cummins N14 using Fleetguard (Cummins OEM) filters, NEVER have I experienced a failure using Baldwin filters.

I would like to hear more about these many Fleetguard fuel filters failures you had?I always ran fleetguard strataphore filters from my dodge dealer(cummins diesel) and never had one failure,just curious?coobie

I haven't had any luck finding one from NAPA. I just bought it from the dealer. here are a couple of links you can try.

I just returned from "Parts Plus" with two Wix 51324 engine oil filters @ 7.98 each. In Delaware there is no sales tax so that was the total price. Both the filter and box claim to be Made In USA. I'm going to try WIX filters, WIX oil filters, WIX air filters, WIX fuel filters, WIX Heavy Duty Oil Filters and see if a cross reference is posted.
The nearest Kioti dealer for me (Bear, De), as far as I know is located about two hours away in Forks Township, Pa. The Parts Plus store is about five miles from our home.
Maybe Tractor Supply or one of the other Farm stores might carry filters. There is a Kubota dealer less than two miles away and other than price, no problem. I also have an old L235 Kubota for over 20 years, it has more welds on it than original steel but other than that issue, the only problems were broken hoses and starter issues which were easily resolved. I even wore out the seats! One tough machine but the Kioti KT45 is a monster compared to the L235.

We would suggest you check a couple other KIOTI Dealers on the price of that CK20HST filter you quoted above. Someone made a mistake.

Lot of difference between oil filter and air filter prices. Might be comparing different things.

Also use the Napa Gold...
Use them on most all my equipment.
.... NAPA is everywhere.
