Dose anyone know what weight engine oil was put in a B2630 from the factory ? I bought my tractor back last april and it only has 18 hours on it but I want to change it anyway for this spring. My owners manual calls for SAE 10W-30 or 10W-40 or a straight 30 weight for temps over 77 degrees. I use schaeffer oil products and my Rep told me I could run a 15W-40 and I would be fine but being engine is under warranty and I don't want any hassles in case something were to happen. Is anyone here using a straight 30w in there engine ? If i could run the 15W-40 I would like to as, where my father works they buy it in bulk and I can get a good deal on it. So what weight engine oil are you guys with the 2630 0r 3030 running in your tractors? Thanks in advance for any info !

Your tractor probably came with 10W-30, but not from the factory. The tractors are shipped over disassembled in crates and put together at the dealer (maybe distributor). 15W-40 should be just fine, although it is probably a bit heavier than I'd suggest in a new tractor in cold weather. Didn't see where you are... But as far as warranty stuff goes, how in the world will they know what weight oil you put in it?

Im running the 10W-30 factory oil in it until my first change at 50 hrs...and then switching to a 5W-40 syn oil.
