First time tractor owner here. Have had this one about 14 months now and has been working great. Bought at 1240 hours and currently sitting around 1550 hours now. Oil was just done at the 1240 hours mark.
Was pushing snow around and moving some hay bales for about 3 hours when suddenly noticed I was leaving a trail of oil in the snow. Jumped out and located it leaking somewhere around the oil fill cap. Parked it and shut down. Seems to have just been coming out of the oil fill cap. Checked oil and it looks correctly filled etc, not milky or anything. I did stall the engine pushing some snow just before noticing this.
I'm wondering if I just caused an overpressure in the system and the oil cap has a relief valve? I cleaned it up restarted and ran it at idle for a couple of minutes then at 1500rpm for a few minutes then drove it back and fourth a couple of times and didn't appear to be leaking. What are your thoughts those who have a lot more experience with tractors then me?
