I have a JD 550 3 pt tiller that leaks oil out of the side chain case near the bottom. First I thought that the bolts on the chain case cover were loose but after tightening them it still leaks. Does anyone have experience with these? I don't have an operators or repair manual as I bought this at auction a few years ago. I use it only a couple times a year for an hour or so each time and I have been just putting gear oil in befor each use. Most of it drips out after I park it on my barn floor. Does the top gear case and the side chain case get lubed separately? (there are filler ports in each) I'm thinking of tearing it down and repairing it but I need a manual first. Any words of wisdom would be appreciated.

That's enough wisdom to get you started. Search Deere's website and order the manual; the online parts catalogs will have the parts diagrams.
