Had some post below on putting in a block heater which is not hard to do, But got to looking around and decided to make a oil pan heater, i have seen several that attach with a magnet. I had chickens for a long time and decided to use a spare red heat light bulb with deflector, which give off some good heat. So had my girl friend over today Lilly a girl dog labradoddle sweetest dog i have ever known, so i wanted to spend time with her and took her to the shop which she likes as much as i do lol. Here is what i made up still have some fitting to do for under my two oil pans on my Kubota L-3940, I think it will work out well for the winter weather for starting in what we have had this year cold and colder! First picture is Lilly my girl friend

Cute doggy! :)

That heater is interesting.

I'd just be afraid of critters trying to a build a nest in it.

Infrared heat is a great choice for for oil pans and transmission housings. I have used a purchased homeowner type infrared heater on my trans case in the past, just had to tie off the safety switch.

It would only be on tractor when i plug it in the rest of the time it would not be there. I need to figure out a way to hold it in place might just build a small cart on wheels for it not sure on that yet. Or thought about a small floor jack to raise and lower it so i don't have to crawl under it to put it in place.

Run a synthetic oil, and that will help in more ways than one, Quicker/easier oil flow has many benefits…and use a battery maintainer 24/7. Works for me here in colder Ontario 😉
