I have a problem with oil pressure lamp going on when motor has warmed up (on my Hinomoto E2804). Today I installed a mechanical oil pressure gauge and after a cold start the pressure gauge displays approx 65PSI(it is a gauge in bar and it shows 4.5bar) at 900rpm. Now I searched the internet, and this seems to be a too high pressure. Also higher rpm results in even higher pressure reading.
What would be a normal oil pressure after a cold start and 1000rpm?
I don't think that the new oil pressure gauge displays a wrong measurement(although it is possible). I installed the gauge without filling up the hose with oil.
Could it be that air in the connection hose between the motor and the gauge influences the reading?
Also I read that the oil pump has a release valve which should open when the pressure has reached some level. I will try to locate the oil pump and check if I can remove the release valve for inspection.
