Oil pressure high in MF275

Does anyone have a feel for the level of concern if the oil pressure of MF275 is in the yellow. When warm and running at 1700 rpm the needle is between green and yellow. I changed the oil and fliter. Still high. I am also having problems with the oil pressure switch..seems not to be working. My machine sat for a year without running (long story) and I wonder if all the crud in the oil has caked up and is clogging things up?.

I doubt you have anything to worry about, they carry good oil pressure. Does it come down a bit after running an hour or two with hot oil?

Honestly its been a while since I've had my machine running for much longer than an hour. We are getting ready for haying out here (mid May to mid June) so will find this out pretty soon. Thanks for the reply.

What weight oil are you using and when was the filter changed last? It could be a clogged filter or a stuck pressure relief valve in the lube system.

running 15-40...just changed the filter and oil. no difference. The pressure when the engine is warm and operating and working RPMs is just in the yellow zone. I will keep an eye on it. Thanks for your input.

I have 2 smaller MF245s with Perkins diesels and they both run high oil pressure, always have.
