oil pressure switch and fuel gauge wiring

I am in need of help wiring my oil pressure switch and fuel gauge on my 1974 Massey Fergurson 175 diesel. I tried to go by the wiring diagram from the owners manual I bought , however that created more problems!!

Can't help with pictures but can describe what it does and what wires go where. To eliminate a switch left on MF used the oil pressure switch to turn the electric on and off. Understanding this means one wire should be hot all the time, the other should go to the alternator (or regulator) and the fuel gauge and possibly anything else that would normally be controlled by an ignition switch. Without further research in my manual "stash" That is all I can do now. If you need more please get to me then I can take more time the find a better answer.
