B-414 with BC -144 gas engine
I am looking for information on how to find parts for a #3043827R93 oil pump as found on a 1964 IH B-414 with a BC-144 gas engine. I note many of the part numbers are common to the #3064060R91 oil pump as fitted to the BD-144 engine. Has anyone tried to take parts from the diesel oil pump and tried to fit them in the gas engine oil pump? If so did they actually fit?

To the forum from Northwest Alabama. I am sure someone out there can help you but it might take a few days for them to reply.

You don't say what parts you're looking for, but maybe this will help some. Here is the exploded view of your oil pump. Official Case IH Online Parts Store and Case IH Catalog for Best Parts Search and Best Parts Look Up. Case IH Parts for Case IH Tractors, Case IH Combines, Case IH Tractors, Case IH Manuals, Case IH Parts You can go to a Case/IH dealer such as Messicks: Messick's | Dealer for New Holland, Case IH, Kubota, Cub Cadet and More | Online Parts, Sales & Service. and look at parts still available, with price, or copy an paste the part number to a search engine, and see if you get any hits. I have the best luck with Google, but to each their own favorite.

Many thanks for your response DJ 54. I have made extensive use of the CASE/IH website particular the exploded diagrams and related parts listings. I am worried about part tolerances on the new diesel oil pump and the old gas engine oil pump. In other words are the tolerances close enough from an after market manufacturer of these diesel pumps so that they will fit the manufacture of the older gas oil pumps. I wish to replace the gears hoping that this would restore proper oil pressure at low revolutions (under 1000). To my knowledge most of these parts are no longer sold individually. If they are made it appears they are sold as part of the new diesel oil pump.

You're welcome. But, I'm now wondering how many hours are on you engine. Could it be, the engine may need the tolerances checked on the front cam bushing, main & rod bearings..??

Even with an all new pump, it may not solve your problem. Just some food for thought.

You are so correct. I have considered what you mentioned. I thought first I would start with the oil pump. Then consider rebuilding the engine. The tractor meter was not functioning when I purchased the tractor. A tale of woe when dealing with gas BC-144 engine - parts difficult to source and much more expensive than the BD- 144 diesel engine. I have spent numerous hours researching if the necessary parts are available. The tractor was made in England and has many Lucas electrical parts. Despite this I have become attached to it ( I must be masochistic) and would like to get it back into good shape.

One thing I did not realize, is that this engine has 3 cam bearings, instead of just the front, like the smaller, older, IH engines I've rebuilt. Being that is where oil pressure is built, against the cam bearings, that may be the problem.

But, if you take it down that far, doing the rest would make sense. Major OH kits here seem to be plentiful. Doing a quick search, look to average $675.00 U.S. None of the kits show containing the cam bearings. Took a quick look at Messicks, and the set of 3 oem cam bearings look to be around $50.00 U.S. Aftermarket one's look to run $26.00 U.S.

Have you heard anything about the quality of the parts/kits supplied by AGKITS.Com? Red Power?

Thanks

No I haven't. The only one's we've used over the years, were TISCO sets Dad put in the IH 240, and the one Farmall Super C, and that was in the mid 70's. Doubt either one has had over 1,000 hrs. put on either one since then, but seem to be doing well. The rest I was fortunate enough to get NOS sets at auctions pretty reasonable.
