Oil qauntity for 3x20 - manual vs. label on hood

I know this applies to my 3520, but I'm not sure about other 3x20 machines.

I recently did my 50 hour oil/filter change. The manual says 5.1 quarts for oil/filter change. Under hood label says 4.5 quarts for oil/filter change.

I didn't see the difference until after I changed my oil. I drained, replaced filter, and filled with 5 quarts. When I poured the old oil back into the 1 gallon container for recycling it all fit. I was initially concerned that I didn't let it drain long enough -- but I was way over filled on my dipstick. I ended up draining about 1/2 quart to get to the full line on dipstick.

Long story short. Under hood label of 4.5 quarts appears to be correct. 5.1 quarts in manual appears to be wrong.

I found glaring mistakes in my JD 4300 manual too, and wish Deere had better editors. However, the manual probably is assigned to those who just copy from old and do not really know the intimacy of the equipment they are 'manualling' at the moment. Too much room for error, for us to find later, IMO.
I find the CD to be real helpful, albeit there may be mistakes there too. When, if, I trade up, I will order the CD to work from.
Glad this error was only a minor inconvenience to you, and that you noticed it early.

Yep -- it wasn't a great inconvenience for me, but hopefully I can save someone else a little time and mess in the future.

Does your 3520 have one drain plug or two like the 3720?

I put in 6 like my manual says and it looks to be about right, just a 1/4" short of full prior to complete drainback.
