Are there any preferred grades or specifications for modern lubricants in antique tractors. Mine is a 1953 Ford Golden Jubilee.

I do not know what the original oil viscosity requirements were for the tractor you mention. If it were my tractor, this is what In would use.

If not stating or operating below 30 degrees F - API rated CJ-4 Diesel HD Engine Oil in SAE Viscosity 15W-40.

If starting and operating below 30 degrees F - API Rated CJ-4 Diesel HD Engine Oil in SAE Viscosity 5W-40

Engine Oil and Filter change each 50 engine hours or 2 years which ever comes first

Whatever oil is available today is much better than whatever was available then.

Use whatever you want. I use 10w-30 in my Model A and Model T, and also used it in my '52 Harry Ferguson TO30..
