The longer an oil stail is allowed to sit the harder it is to remove...TSP (Trisodium Phosphate) works very well...

What brand of drain opener contains lye these days? I tried to find some and discovered the lye had been replaced with something else. I looked that ingredient up. As best I could determine, it was a kind of bleach.

Many brands are still being made. "household' is one of them. 100% pure lye crystal drain opener.

You can also get the blue tinted lye that the meth druggies don't like to use.. also powdered.


I buy lye from the hardware store.. most sell it in 1# bottles. Ace and tre value carry it I know.

I make soap, and lye is the alkali i use. 1 pound makes about 4 batches of soap for me. laundry Bleach is a strong alkali as well as straight pool chlorine
