Oil squirting on Right front tire of 8N

Have a 52 8N. I recently noticed oil on the inside right front tire. It appears to be coming from the engine somewhere (rather than grease). I can see some oil on the engine, but somehow it must be periodically squirting onto the right front tire. Any idea what would cause the oil to squirt that far. I"m fairly new to 8N"s...sorry for being so vaugue.

I'd look at the oil line going to the governor, or the oil line on front of the engine.

You can always lay a piece of cardboard over the wheel and look for the direction o fthe squirt.

Do any work on it recently? where ya might have had a loose line, and then tightened it without noticing? Oil doesn't evaporate, and can stay et looking for a long time.

Alternately/ ya got loaded front tires? I've seen front tires loaded that will weep. A friend had some loaded with rimguard/beetjuice. they weeped a murkey red stuff...

It's fresh oil. No major repairs lately, but I have been pulling heavier implements. It's leaking oil pretty good....have had to put in a quart or so every 4hrs of use.

If it is the governor.. the casting is probably warped from overtightening. If it is ony slightly.. you can pull it and lap it with a piece of ultra fine sand paper and a hard true surface.. like a glass table top.. then put back together with a new cork gasket.

if that isn't the source of the leack.. you really need to find it. A quart in a few hours is a good leak..

Might be somehting leaking ont e front of the engine.. perhaps around the distribuitor.. or the front oil line. and it is getting thrown onto the fan blades??
