My husband and I are building a log home on 14 acres - part wooded, part pasture. Actually, we have contracted to have it built as we would like to have it done this decade. We currently have 3 horses and will need to brush hog, move shavings, and do general chores on the property. My husband has gone ga-ga over the Branson 2910 and, I must admit, it does seem like a sweet machine. Problem is that neither of us has ever owned a tractor before and although we have been talking to a lot of folks, I have two major concerns. First, is the 2910 undersized for what we are doing? The 3510 seems to be a much more popular model with you guys and doesn't appear to cost that much more. Second, he was born without a shopping gene and has only talked to one dealer. I on the other hand, am female. He was quoted $16,500 with 0% for three years or $16,000 cash - that is the 2910 with loader. Based on what I am reading on the forum and on e-bay, that seems a little high to me.
We are in Northwest Arkansas. Could you help me out with a little of your wisdom??? Don't get nervous on me - he IS going to get his tractor. He's a great guy, works hard, needs a tractor, wants a tractor, done deal. He just HATES to shop - that is my job. We would be willing to travel (within reason) to pick it up. I have requested quotes on line from a couple of dealers with no response. We are looking to take the tractor plunge at the end of the month when the barn is completed.
Thanks for your input. Have read a zillion posts and the website has been most helpful in providing useful information.
Based on what I am reading, there is such a thing as a male shopping gene - my husband just didn't get it. I'm out of my league here - we ain't talking a new pair of shoes. THAT, I don't need help with. If you do, I will be glad to return the favor. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Also need a brush hog attachment.
