OK, need advice on a CUT for mowing
Hi All,
OK, here is my situation.
1) I live on a mountain, my lawn changes 300+ feet in elevation from bottom to top.
2) Because of #1, I have killed the hydrostats on a Cub Cadet Tank and a Wright Stander zero turn mowers
3) Currently I'm using a Deere 318 that has no issues with the hills with the overbuilt hydrostat it has but I'm concerned about the Onan on the hills as they have a very shallow sump. ( I don't want to spend the $ to repower it with a Honda as the kit cost is about 100% of the resale value of the tractor and I would never recover my investment)
4) I could use my 3320 cab to mow but I would prefer not to as it's around 6K Lbs and I have a septic system.
So, after all that, my thinking is to look for a small Diesel CUT with a gear trans and a mid mount mower. Off the top of my head something like the Deere 655, 755, 790 series, Ford 1210, 1215, Kubota B 6100, 7100 series and along those lines. Don't want to get into Chinese stuff.
What are your thoughts on the various used gear trans CUTs out there keeping in mind that I'm trying to cap the cost at under 5K for the older models and maybe up to 7 to 8K for the 790/3005 Deere's
