First let me vent my frustration that there is no food plot forum here. I think it would be highly used and useful. There are thousands of guys/gals planting food plots for deer management and habitat improvement. Anyhoo..

I have an Imperial Whitetail Clover plot that I need to kill grass in (2 acres). The Whitetail Institute sells Arrest for grass and Slay for broadleaf weeds that they claim they will leave the clover standing. Does anybody know of generics for these products? Treatment runs about $60 per acre from them. I heard that Poast Plus is the same as Arrest but I can't find it locally, and they can't order it. The two Agway's near me and the Tractor Supply are clueless. The Tractor Supply is a lame excuse for anything agricultural, they're just plain dumb, at least ours is. Any advice? I can look up and post the chemical formula from Whitetail Institute Thanks.

Poast Plus is indeed the same agent as Arrest. I've seen it on E-Bay for a fraction of the Cabela's price for Arrest.

Broadleaf control in clover can get tricky; I did know of a few agents which would work for not too much $$. When I get a chance, I'll research...or google perhaps "broadleaf control in clover" and see what you come up with.

Often the prob. is finding quantities small enough for your application...perhaps you could find a few others in your area and buy bulk.

Fusilade II by Syngenta is a herbicide for grasses and suitable for safe over-the-top application in a large variety of plants. See label.

Poast and Poast Plus are sethoxydim. I just sprayed some on my food plot and the grass is no more. It does take 2-3 weeks for full effect and the grass needs to be 2" to 8" high. Not shorter and not taller. You must use a surfactant like Crop oil when you spray Poast. It's about 20 bucks an acre to apply. But you have to buy it in 2.5 gal volume and that will go for 10 -12 acres.

IF you want to get rid of the broad leaf weeds like lambs quarters, wild mustard, pig weed, etc Raptor is the stuff to spray. It can be tank mixed with Poast / plus. This is also about 20 bucks an acre.
