Old dump trailer cylinder fluid

I bought an old dump trailer and was concerned about using it with the fluid in it. Will mixing fluids from my tractor to the trailer hurt my hydraulic system. I'm ignorant about these things so please don't laugh too hard

I wouldn't, because I wouldn't know what was in the trailer system. It may or may not be good. Not worth the repairs to find out the hard way that it was junk.

just purge and refill.

you are obviously concerned about it because you are asking .. so listen to what your gut is telling you... and purge it... and yeah.. if it were mine.. I'd purge it too..
