Grew up on a tobacco farm in North Carolina. Air Force for 4 yrs, then into the business world for 38+ years. Retired in '97, and back to the farm. Purchased farm in MO. when retired. When left farm in '55 had mules and tractors. First tractor was a Ferguson TO30. Now have John Deere 2030. Learned after purchased in '97 it was one of the last gas farm tractors manufactured by John Deere. Major repairs since purchased..had steering and pivot front end rebuilt, replaced carburetor, overhauled hydraulic lift, and converted to an electronic ignition. The conversion to electronic ignition made a vast improvement in starting, running and power. I am a tinkerer and do most of my own repairs. Still learning so I ask a lot of questions of those more knowledgeable than I. So from time to time I will seek help. So please help an "old fart" along the way. Who knows I may even be able to help others because of lessons learned from mistakes I have made along the way.
