Okay, well I'm really not that old, but sufficiently seasoned in life experience. New to tractors and tractor work.

My spouse and I used to rent a house on a large ranch in Dulzura, CA which is in San Diego County near Tecate, Mexico. We relocated to LA for my work. Ten years in LA was enough and it was time to get back to rural living.

So, two years ago we bought a house on 9.5 acres. Last year, we bought the three lots next to ours and are now at 38 acres. In our little pocket of the Sweetwater River valley, we have two other neighbors. Otherwise our lots are bordered by U.S. Fish and Game and U.S. Trust held properties, so no risks of development around us.

The condition of the dirt road, especially on the newly acquired lots that had not been taken care of for probably 25 years, left a lot to be desired. So, after looking at a number of used tractors of various sizes, a number of which were in questionable condition, we decided to avail ourselves of Kubota's 0% financing and bought new. We went with the L3200 4WD HST with loader and the heavier duty G2(?) Gearmore box scraper and paid extra for 3 spool hydraulics. The Gearmore and related hydraulics have proved themselves to be well worth the extra cost for convenience and ease of use.

Here's the tractor just after it was delivered :licking: :D:

Note the add on accessory for the small dog  so she does not get squished accidentally .

:welcome: to TBN! We have a similar tractor by Kioti. Amazing what they can do.

Joe,

Yes, indeed it is good. It can be a lot of hard work, but well worth it to not have neighbor's crawling all over you. Also, since we're off grid, it's nice not having to pay utility bills every month!!!

Welcome to TBN--join the fun:D

After 14 years in Orange County, I moved to the North Sacramento Valley on 10 acres (flat pasture) in 2005. First tractor was a new 2005 Kubota B7510HST with the LA302 FEL. Nice little machine that did what I needed while my house was being built. Traded the 7510 for a new 2008 Mahindra 5525.

Good luck.
