Welcome to the forum.
How bad do you want it? That, to me, determines the price. Will you do the head gasket change yourself? Or have a mechanic do it, and then consider what your decision will be if the mechanic finds a crack in the head? or the block? That happened to me, and I ended up sinking about $3700 into a replacement short block and head, so decided a complete overhaul was in order. I didn't get that back when I sold it (referring to my 2 cyl 420 Utility Deere). Sunk about half that amount into a 2 cyl 420 Utility Deere crawler when I thought it just needed the clutch and brakes worked on. Found bigger problems, mostly a result of a previous overhaul where the gears were welded back on to the shafts, rather than use the correct snap rings. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif So you never know what lies beneath the paint. But I enjoyed having them, and sometimes wish I hadn't sold them, but built a building to store them instead.
