Thanks for posting those are really cool pics. I was through some of those places as a kid on a family road trip. I remember Deadwood, that was a neat place, lots of history in them thar hills.

Reminds me of my great grandad. Let's see. He was 90 when I was about 15. I was born in 50 so that means he was born in 1875. He delivered freight in Indiana and thereabouts with a horse and Wagon until eventually he bought a truck.

Very interesting photos Brin. What always gets to me is the inordinate amount of progress made in such a short time. When I was in the Dakotas a few years ago, I visited gold mines from the mid to late 1800,s. If one didn't see the rotted and weather beaten wood of their quarters and equipment, you'd think someone was digging their last Saturday. A hundred or so years to time is nothing more than a breath.

What a keyhole's view into a hard life of times not so long past.... Awesome. Having ridden my scoot extensively through and around the Black Hills twice in recent years, there were some formations quite familiar... for instance last fall, Camping within sight of Bear Butte.
