Junk seller had an older trailer sprayer that I got for $40. Faded tag says Fimco LG 15 A. Can't read the S/N. Pictures later if requested.
Tires are derimmed, so I'll have to work on them later. Frame is intact but aged. No boom sprayer unit, but it has the mounts for one. Tank is in good shape and holding fluid. Pump was seized. Opened that all up, scraped and filed the rust off the stator and housing. Put it all back together and it runs smooth.
Hoses were all fubared and jury-rigged. I can't find a picture of this unit. Only the newer versions which have a manifold to select boom or wand, plus what looks like a tank return. Mine has a port in the top of the tank that one of the messed up hoses went to, so it must also be a return. I was able to get things routed so I get pressure at the wand with no leaks. Puts out a good stream of 20 feet or more and the nozzles adjusts to a fine fan.
I need to figure out how this hose routing should be. I'll probably contact Fimco and see what they can offer. I kind of like the new style manifold, so I'll be pricing those.
New ones are showing around $275, so I guess $40 plus some elbow grease and head scratching wasn't too bad. Not sure I'll ever need the boom, but I'll see what they cost.
