I was at Knoebels grove in Elysburg PA with the kids when I spotted a very old Ford tractor engine running a coster. The coater was basically a small kid size coater built by the Overland Amusement Co. of Saugaus, MA and opened in 1955. This is believed to be the only operating Overland Coaster left in the world.
The tractor engine was off a 1928 Ford and was the tractor used to clear the area the park is now in. What amazed me is that the owners of the park have owned the tractor since new and it has never been repaired other then plugs, oil and filters! The park treats this engine like a part of the family since its the oldest part of the Knoebels part heritage.
Pretty cool.
