Sometimes my work requires I drive through this town in SW Fla.(Immokalee).Have driven on occasion by this place"The Pioneer Museum at Roberts Ranch".The place was closed but I stopped at front gate and waved down a ranchhand.I asked him if I could take pic's of imp/attachments I could see from road afar off.He radio'd bossman and said it was ok to take my time.
I dont know who made them, vintage, etc.I hope you guys/gals will enjoy them and possibly bring some good ole memories to some out there.

Thanks for the pics. Any idea of the use of the fire chamber (first pic in the second row)?

Oops. I looked at the rest of the pics. I'm guessing it's for the sugarcane kettle.

Steve
Yes Sir, Steve

That old pull type brush hog sure looks cool. i have an antique plow as yard art in one of our flower beds. I would have restored it but it was way to rusted out to actually restore and put to use.

If you look at top row of pics, pic#4 in first group I posted you'll see pic of a sign.It read that first bushhog was invented in 1950.I dont know if thats true or not.:confused2: However its funny you mentioned that bushhog, cause I said something simular to ranchhand that let me get on property to take pics.BTW the one in pics "might" be missing some type of top cover, that exposed chain/gears looks dangerous.

yeah, that chain could definatly be dangerous.

In earlier times, like when I was a kid, a lot of the equipment had exposed shafts and chain drives, I would imagine that the cover on the belt on the bush hog was to prevent trash from tearing up the belts than it was for operator safety. Somewhere after that we lost what we used to call "gumption" and some people decided that we could out safety inattention and ignorance so now we have the OSHA types that takes care of our thinking for us.:confused2:

Nice pics. Thanks for sharing. I remember my dad adjusting stuff on the old combine when I was a kid. He'd open a side panel and reach in where stuff was whirring and belts were moving, at least that's how I remember it.
